Lonestar History
Ballinger Lonestar
Packaging Systems was established as a manufacturer
of vertical form/fill/seal machinery in 1989 and recently
incorporated in 1999. Edward J. Studer and father James
Studer along with John R. Zweigle had the belief that
there was still a tremendous need for custom engineered
equipment built to the specific need of the customer.
This led to an aggressive engineering and machinery
development program. The outcome was a large variety
of packaging equipment with many of the models becoming
standard items within their catalog.
Many of the first designs in the late 80's were tailored
around the commercial fertilizer and chemical industry.
With a great need for equipment that could last in this
extreme environment, the innovative designs included
the use of plastics where metal parts once dominated.
Maximizing the use of stainless steel and other nonferrous
corrosion resistant metals and sourcing the highest
quality electrical components, the equipment design
became state of the art.
Buddy's Plant Plus Corp., being one of the largest producers
of nationally recognized soluble fertilizer, it has
also become one of Ballinger Lonestar's best customers.
With its own insatiable need for packaging and material
handling equipment, it has also become a tremendous
asset to the development and Beta testing of its new
designs.
Today, Ballinger Lonestar is a manufacturer of world
class, packaging equipment for many industries including
the cosmetic, food and dairy, pet, automotive, electronics,
etc. It has implemented its standard designs with a
host of clever and innovative attachments and devices
custom to specific applications. Our customers have
come to count on timely delivery, quality training,
responsive in-field service, and quality spare parts.
